One of the central therapeutic principles that guides SITT is that current maladaptive behaviors in our clients’ lives are driven by beliefs formed in response to circumstances, family dynamics, and traumatic experiences earlier in life. Our work as therapists is to help surface these beliefs so clients can understand their impact and have the opportunity to transition to new, healthier beliefs. This guide offers a series of questions to help unearth the beliefs a client holds about their own story.
